DSC54xD1000PV is a surge arrester specifically designed for PV installations with or without LPS (Lightning Protection System) as it is a Class I and II device, hence suitable for direct and indirect lightning strikes. The use of surge arrester on a PV plant can also prevent overvoltages occurring due to loss of insulation of components or cables or misconnections. 1000Vdc is the least requirement for latest PV installations that operate at 600 / 800V in normal operating conditions. The arrester shall be installed as close as possible to the Inverter. If the distnce between the PV field and the inverter is longer than 7m it is advisable to install one at eaceh end of the line.
